Ingredients of Plain Dhokla

  1. You need 1 cup of semolina/sooji.
  2. It's 1 cup of yogurt.
  3. You need as needed of Water.
  4. Prepare 2 tsp of Green chilli / minced.
  5. You need 1 tsp of ENO / Baking Soda.
  6. You need 1 tsp of Salt.
  7. You need of FOR TEMPERING.
  8. It's 2 tsp of Oil.
  9. Prepare 1 tsp of mustard seeds.
  10. It's 4 of green chilli.
  11. You need of For garnishing.
  12. You need as needed of coriander leaves.

Plain Dhokla instructions

  1. Take Semolina in a bow. Add yogurt to the flour. Season it with salt. Add some water and mix it well till batter consistency. Add the ENO(fruit salt). Mix it well..
  2. Grease plate with oil and pour the batter. Spread the batter evenly on greased plate..
  3. Sprinkle Black pepper powder/ red chilli powder on batter..
  4. Prepare Instant pot for steaming.Add 2 cups of water to the inner pot of the Instant Pot..
  5. Place the trivet and turn on the Instant pot on Saute mode. Once the steam starts coming place the dhokla plate on the trivet..
  6. Steam it for 15 minutes.Once the timer goes off, allow pressure to naturally release for about 5 mins.
  7. Manually release the rest of the steam. Check if dhokla is well cooked by pricking it with a fork/knife..
  8. Using a pot holder remove the container and allow it to cool for tempering. You could cut the cake into squares or diamonds either before or after tempering.and serve it in a serving plate. Serve the khatta dhokla with coriander chutney..
