  1. Place butter beans in a large bowl cover the beans with 1 inch of water. Soak the beans overnight in the fridge..
  2. <Next morning > place your smoked neckbones in your slow cooker cover with water and cook for 1 hr..
  3. Add onion and Butter beans to the slow cooker..
  4. Add enough water to just cover the beans. We did not add seasoning yet because it will make the beans tough..
  5. Cook for 4 hours. Covered..
  6. Add your seasonings and stir. Cook for 30 minutes..
  7. Serve with rice or eat it like a soup. Enjoy.
